Random Homestay Pictures

on 5/22/2009 10:03:00 PM

I've updated a little bit on the blog layout again, swept my room as well as learning up on batch processing my photos using Photoshop. Despite the disrupted internet connection which is driving me nuts, I still have yet to study *kills self*

So I have decided to upload some random photos taken during my homestay trip in Japan last June. Photos spamming ahead!

Dango, which is the very first food eaten after touching down in Japan Chubu Airport, Nagoya.

After licking my fingers clean, i dunno which hole to throw the stick.

The legendary Melon. go figure the price. see the apple beside? it's larger than my fist 0.o

GPS system inbuilt one leh! It's in my host father's proud Lexus car.

Let's spot the mount Fuji. Saw it? that's the best i could see that day nia T.T

Nameko mushrooms. super expensive one. usually used in miso soup and stew.

Yuri XD not being able to see fuji-san, we went to the lily park instead. abundant of beutiful lilies in a wide meadow.

Super Cute White fluffy thingy on the Nagoya Subway train deco.

鯱(shachihoko), The Gold Fish Ornament/gargoyle on the Rooftop of Nagoya Castle.

The Cute version of the gold fish, shachimaru-kun Kyaa~

Even the manhole also more cantik than ours one.

*cute stuff overdosed*

Erm. Ferris wheel on building XD

I swear I would have barged in there if it's not closed T.T it's a manga/anime shop with lots of doujin btw xD

MOS Burger aaa.. I din know about it then, if not I would have eaten there instead of the horrible fast food inside the themepark.

Erm, Yeah. This is the themepark, Universal Studio Japan XD

I guess I better go study first. the Guilt has finally kicked in. Stay tune for more picture spams! If there's any part of the trip you are interested in let me know~ then i'll post more pictures on that. still got tons to go haha.

Blog Layout done + Sakura pics!

on 5/21/2009 04:48:00 PM

Phew, after hours of clicking around, the sidebar widgets are done, except the picture slideshow. I am abit lazy to upload pictures from my pc to picasa or photobucket or even flickr so I'll leave the sidebar as it is now.

Among the widgets which I'm most satisfied with are the blog archive calendar and the label cloud. Those were the applications that I had always wanted in my blog since last time but dun have the know how to realize them. *happy*

It was very tedious tagging all of my blog post, wasting like 2-3 hours just by doing it. Looking back on all my blog post since 2005, I notice that:

1. I have put on alot of weight
2. My command of english has deteriorated exponentially
3. Most of my posts are rants, if not about exams then it's about assignments =_=
4. I can rant on so much petty stuffs that I feel like killing myself reading them
5. I miss CG-ing
6. My mom looks so young 3 years ago *reminds self to bear-hug her when home*
7. It brings back memory when looking back on outings and birthday parties
8. Feels old when reading the genki posts by my younger self.
9. Makes me want to get back to the people i used to be very close with but got drifted apart in time.
10. When was my last YamCha session!?

It's kinda sad if we just go off our own separate path before having a last gathering. My last semester is all about fyp and assignments and exams only. Moreover I had only 2 subjects so the time i spend in the campus was so little, let alone meeting friends or visiting their events. Hopefully will get to gather with everyone before I leave man!

Anyhow, off to a lighter topic! I've uploaded Sakura pictures taken in Japan courtesy of my host family as well as a new friend, who is a super senior in Tsukuba University, the one i'll be going to this october XD!

This is taken by Ms Yap, who's doing her doctorate there, around Tsukuba University.
I wanna walk under the sakura trees everyday!! XD

Then the following are taken by my host family in Nishio city, Aichi Prefecture.
They went to a park there for 花見 (Hanami), which is a tradition to appreciate the cherry blossom.

Close up on the cherry blossoms~

This is my Host mother, Naoko-san and her husband holding their cute granddaughter Nat-chan. She's getting cuter and cuter now. Makes me wanna hug her again so much XD

The woman in this pic would be nat-chan's mother, Tomoko-san, daughter of Naoko-san.
She brought me to 2nd-hand manga shop during one of the weekend and it was where i get my awesome hardcover tsubasa volumes for only 100yen each *woot*

And soon I will be seeing sakura for myself!! yey~ don't worry cos I'll take pictures when I do k XD hopefully won't be too dead preparing for the entrance exam for the master course by then *swt*

Back on Blogging

on 5/20/2009 11:45:00 PM

Anyone missed me?

I know it's been too long since I last blogged, hiatus for one year already! time flies eh. Actually I got tired cos of my long winded style of writing, and the inertia snowballed every time when I attempt to update. So now I'll start off again with shorter posts so that I don't get tired of it that soon.

The main updates on my life, picking up from the last post, is that I am going to graduate from MMU in less than a week's time! That's a huge leap of update there lol, but I'm kinda lazy to recount everything that had happened up until now.

So some major events would be applying for the Japanese Government aka monbusho scholarship for postgraduate studies, leading to the mind-wrecking long wait for results of written test, interviews and replies from japan universities. Meanwhile I did my internship in an automation company in Melaka, learning not much on automation ironically, but more on PIC microchip programming. None the least I learn something about working life, where you will be totally exhausted for any entertainment after work and you'll ask why it isn't a saturday everyday.

After 3 months of training I got off the hook and continue on for my final year project, which is to design a humanoid robot structure. Not to mention skipping almost 80% of the lecture/tutorial classes. *proud* Of course everyone else does about the same.. maybe just abit less compared to mine. Well at least I didn't get barred, which is the main point.

With all the toiling done, I've finally gotten the scholarship! I will be studying in Japan this coming October, so dun envy me k XD It's one of the reasons why I am blogging again, to make you all drool on my stay there lol. Anyway, somebody should start a blog too since it's Toudai she's going *stares*.

And the other thing is that my robot is ALIVE!!! well, at least it can do movement pre-programmed. It's called Frog.E, name courtesy of Thye Shin. See the robot video below! Too bad i can't make it to dance hare-hare yukai or do any significant anime pose. no time >_<"

Frog.E isnt it cute? XD

So I'll stop here. I am suppose to study for my final finals in MMU. Now that I've finish watching Fringe except the finale, I had to somehow start reading orz. Stay tuned for Sakura pictures from Japan next post! XD

*edit* I've posted the Frog.E video~~ XD
