Trip to KL

on 1/11/2005 11:05:00 PM
This was the best trip. in jz 2 days and a half, i've been to Petaling street, One Utama, Sungai Wang Plaza, Low Yat Plaza and Berjaya Time square! I've taken LRT, taxi and even monorail(first time) for transport! Cool~
On Friday, right after our Apply maths class, me and Kristine rushed back to our room to do some light packing. Actually it was me who haven't packed :P. So after about half an hour, we were at the RSU bus stop waiting for bus. Luckily, before long a bus wira came and we boarded it. Previously we missed our bus to KL as we boarded the bus tuah, which took ages to get to the melaka sentral. Phew, it was good actually, to not worry about missing the bus and enjoy the bus ride. we alighted at the sentral at 1pm, an hour before the departure of our bus to KL. This is such a relief! Even more, we manage to get in the 1.30pm bus as we requested from the counter. Yey! everything goes smoothly!
At about 4pm, we got off the bus and got ourselves queueing up for the tickets back to melaka. Kristine said she wanted to buy dunkin dounut for her aunt who let us stay overnight as a token of gratitude. She bought a box of it as i'd done buying tickets. Then, we went to Petalling Street happily. We were planning to go the manga shop we spotted last time to browse on comics and maybe buy some of the posters, which were cheap. From afar, as we were walking towards the location of the shop, i had a feeling it was closed. Darn! It was! Tough luck. But wait! there's a paper stuck to the shop. What? It had moved! and the map was totally unknown to us. We tried to walk about petalling street to search for similar landmarks drawn in the map. It stated that it's near a popular bookshop, but when we got there, there's nothing near a comic shop around it. Then i recalled my aunt saying there's 2 popular bookshops in petalling street! Too bad we din go in the popular we saw and ask about the location of the other one. We were exhausted from the walking and the hot weather, and so we retreated. Instead, we got ourselves a nice bowl of black sugar dou fu hwa and kinda rejuvenated. :P
After that, we walked to the pasar seni LRT to get back to Kristine's aunt's house in SS2. When we alighted the LRT, her aunt came and fetch us in the Taman Bahagia station. Then we went out again, and it felt so good walking without my backpack, which was left in the house. We flagged down a taxi and it took us to One Utama, and guess wat? the fees' jz RM4.50! Geesh, taxis in melaka are crazy, they suck money greedily out of you like a vampire!
Once in, we rushed to Mark's with a hungry stomach. Kristine ordered asam laksa and i follow suit. It was expensive but damn nice! other than the fish shreds, everything tasted so delicious. The soup was superb along with extra mint(from Kristine) and the noodles. We savour our palate there blissfully.
Then, feeling satisfied, we walk around window shopping. Kristine tried on some shirts and bought a long sleeve, broad neck one, which looked nice on her. I bought a sundae(die la, eat so much) and then continue to browse the shops. We walked the old wing as well as the new wing, and went to the anime-tech there. After drooling over the anime merchandise and figurines we went off again.
While mounching on some garlic bread we bought from delifrance, we were driftly aimlessly staring at the nice stuffs when suddenly kristine said she wanna go settle sth with a toy shop owner there. So we went, and i was awed. In the small crowded toy shop were figures and box set of characters from Star Wars, Marvel comics and Lord of the Ring. some of the impressive figures had such in depth details that i can stare at them admiring for ages. Then the shop worker showed us 'the sting' in LotR. It was so cool! it can lit up in a blue light and then when you swing it, there's a whooshing sound and metal clanks! Motion sensor, awesome! Before long, Kristine settle her stuff and then got a miniature 'the sting' and a statue with 'shards of Narsil'. I never knew she was once so crazy over LotR until spending several hundreds for the weapons! Wow...
The next day, Kristine's sister dropped us in the monorail station and i was excited cos i've never taken the monorail. The ride was short but enjoyable since it was not packed in there and we were going to Imbi, which was jz 3 stations ahead. We decided to go to Sungai Wang first, and thus we went there. Well, it was so crowded in there we can hardly pass through the impermeable sea of ppl. We got up several floors and found dvds selling 3 for RM10! It was jz unbeliavable. We went in several dvd shops and then got our hands on some of them. Kristine was so happy cos she got 'The return of the king' extended dvd version for only 50 bucks. I was in a frenzy too, with the crowd and excitement and cheap dvd and moreover, I found Howl's Moving Castle! Despite it was sold at Rm9.90, I bought it in a flash as i've been scouring all over for it! Yey! double happiness!
Besides the dvd shops, we also went in the anime shop there. There were so many anime posters and figures and dvd animes! I was busy taking in everything in there, discovering an anime or two that i wanted to watch, and shrugging off after looking at the price tag. >_<" Even some new titles like bleach, rozen maiden were out on the display.
When we decided that we had lingered long enough, we got out and walked to Low Yat. There, Kristine hunted for keyboards and ram while i browse around. I got myself 100 plastic cd covers for 5 bucks and also a guide to Photoshop in cd. Kristine finally decided to get a samsung keyboard and then bought a 128mb ram after a long dilemma. I was abit tired by then, not to mention hungry. And so we ran off to Time square while munching on the hot-from-oven Mexico Bun. Yummy...
In short, we jz dragged ourselves aimlessly in timesquare after browsing through most things in Anime-tech and some other cd shops. We were tired and my feet sored. So at about 9pm, we got ourselves some ice-creams from McD (again?!) and took the monorail back to KL central, where we change to Putra and get our bums back in SS2. Phew! I felt so drained out that i can drop dead on the bed. Ha! But after taking a bathe, i was as fresh as ever. So, we watched Howl's moving castle until pass midnight. I was abit disappointed though, as the quality was like taken right off the cinema and the storyline was not really as good compared to the novel. Sigh. Oh well, at least i bought it below 10 bucks...
On Sunday morning,(opps,or should i say afternoon) we woke up and then pack our stuff. it was quite an ordeal since we were loaded with stuff and can hardly fit them in our backpacks. After struggling for a while, we managed, and off we go, after bidding goodbye to Kristine's cousin (her aunt was away). We took the Putra Liner, which was now renamed Rapid KL to the LRT station and then we were in Pasar Seni in no time.
We went to look for the comic shop as a last resort, and we found it! it was jz right under our nose and we've passed it numerous time! But then, it was too early to rejoice. the shop had merged with other shops and thus the posters and stuff were scattered among those. Well, better luck next time. We were chasing time as our bus was due at 3 o'clock, and we had only half an hour left when we got to one of the shops. Nevertheless, we managed to take a peek and then Kristine bought a Saiyuki Reload Puzzle. Satisfied, we went to Pudu bus station and aboard the bus back to Melaka.
It drizzled when we jz reached Jusco, where we got in a taxi and were driven back to the hostel. So that's it. I've learnt alot from this trip, like where to go for transport, the locations of places i wanna go...etc. Glad i have Kristine around to show me all this. Thx, Kristine! *muaks* ^w^
