rainy hometown

I was back in my hometown, which is also known as the rainy town. Without fail, it has been raining everyday since i've arrived last week. My friend in Brazil said it must be one heck of a weird weather to rain everyday, but i was assuring her that it'd be totally weird otherwise, not only because it is the monsoon season currently.

Let me explain abit about the geography of my hometown. On the west it is surrounded by the Titiwangsa mountain range, or more specifically, by Maxwell Hill. And far off the east will be the melacca straits, so the wind blown in from the sea will be trapped by the hills and thus the clouds carried along it. Then condensation happens so often that we could have rainfall at any moment of the day, even in the afternoon, when the sun is shinning perfectly bright.

It was even a sport, or i should say a gamble, to guess how much rainfall for the moment of the day and of course the one with the closest bet will hit the jackpot. I dun know if it is still on now that we have Toto, Magnum and other lottery games but the probability of winning is about the same for any of them, because though it is almost guaranteed to rain, the range of time and the amount of rainfall is unpredictable, as in, you can have rainfall out of the blue and then clears off in a blink of an eye.

Anyway, it is really nice having some rain each day, be it a light drizzle in the morning, passing raindrops in the afternoon or even a heavy downpour that last for a whole day. The haze will clear off too after a rainpour, tho altogether it was not as bad as in Malacca or KL. Maybe it's just that i've gotten used to rainny weather, since i've been living here for my past 19 years. That's why raindrops splattering on the roof proved to be my lullaby while killing off my roommate's sleepiness in Malacca.

It was not until a few days after that i've gotten myself soaking wet under the rain. In the afternoon, i was running an errand for my Mom, to run round the other shop lot behind Mom's shop to photostat some papers. Just when i was reaching the photostat shop it poured cats and dogs. some of the papers were splattered with raindrops but not too bad. After getting the papers done and putting them in a plastic bag, i started running back, and i was soaked thoroughly. But what got me cursing was that as soon as i hit home base, the sky was crystal blue and the sun shone mildly, as if it never rained a few minutes ago. I should have waited but who could predict its lifespan? At least i get to go home instead of staying back for more work :p *bricked*

Well, This morning it was mildly drizzling, and i slept till it was almost 8am. Yes, for those who thought that i had a typo in the last sentance, trust me. I've been waking up at abit off 7am everyday to go jogging with my aunt. damn everyone said i've gain weight.. orz. Have to jog some of the pounds off before i engage myself in more eating. I really hope that the rate of exercizing can burn off more calories at the rate that i'm eating now :p

So lets sum up my 1 week of holiday/laziness: i've finished reading Angels and Demons, as well as When the Wind Blows. I've downloaded more of the new series of animes, naming a few: Dgrayman, PumkinScissors, Red Garden, HatarakiMan, Black Lagoon, Bartender, Chevalier, NHK, Nighthead Genesis. I haven't really touched my jap pass year papers, or mangas that i've downloaded long time ago. But i got to watch my sis playing DoC and Vincent really need some hair treatment cos his strains of hair are poking out and resemble some deadly harpoons XD *killed by vincent fans*

And that's it. will be catching up with long lost hometown frens next week and also get some jap homework done. Gambarimasu! I will try not to look fat when i come back *bang wall*
