Frenetic Week

Phew... it must be a miracle that i survived this week. Being the Assistant Director of the EMINA 3rd birthday celebration, which was held on tues to thurs this week got me up to ears with work. I was told that the FMD ppl would take out the partition boards, tables and chairs to clc concourse on Monday, thus i was there at 9am waiting for their arrival. Despite that it took them ages to come, there seemed to be some complication. in the agreement, we were given 4 tables, which was not enough for our event. We later on asked for extras and luckily we obtain 4 more. The whole morning i was practically running between FMD office and clc concourse. good exercise for me :P

That night, the deco team and other working committees were to decorate the back drop and the partitions. It was quite chaotic as no one knows certainly how they are suppose to deco and the progress was really slow. at midnight, the back drop was still in a mess, with pieces of colour paper scattering around. Worse, the deco team were leaving due to unfinished assignments, bla bla bla... they got the T-shirts and went off leaving us blank and helpless. After much confusion and difficulties, the rest of the comms managed to set up wordings on the partition boards and also the back drop. At 3am, only a few comms were still standing and finished the back drop. By then, everyone was very tired and sleepy, not to mention being constantly bitten by mosquitos.

On tuesday morning, most of us being deprived of sleep, comms went to the site and continued sticking up artworks and posters and stuff onto the boards while i went to CITS to get the PA system. After trudging back to the site, we found out that the PA system was without extension wires, and thus i painstakingly ran back to CITS to get them. Instead of taking them, I was told to go to FMD office to borrow them. All sweaty by then, i obediently trot over there and practically begged for extension wires. I was on the verge of exploding when the kakak there agree to lend it to me without requesting procedure. Cool~ by the time i went back to clc concourse, the booths are already set up and the merchandise were on display, ready for sale. The models and figurines and mangas were also arranged on the tables. Before long, students were crowding over the booths, admiring the figurines and eyeing the colourful and cool anime posters.

At about 11am, everything was ready and all we need to do was inform Mr. Syokor for our opening ceremony. About then, i saw Loo Mun getting dressed up in a red yukata by Lynn, who cosplayed as a witch (scary...). Loo Mun looked so cute in yukata, which is a type of kimono worn during summer. Before long, i was also dressed up in one and we took pictures together. it was hot wearing an extra layer of clothes(we still wore t-shirt and jeans under the yukata :P) in the hot day, but fun nontheless. I was always tripping over the overlong yukata, as i walked around, supposedly to attract more ppl to the event. Hope i din scare off ppl instead XD. At 12.30pm, the opening ceremony started off and gone smoothly, despite that khurshid got knocked by a fallen partition board on the head and got stitches on the head b4 the ceremony. *sweat* he must have a really high HP compare to normal ppl :P

I stayed in the clc concourse during the day until 4pm, skipping all my classes. The place was packed with streams of students at peak hours, crowding the booths, watching anime screened on laptops and getting their hands on the limited merchandise, which were selling like hot cake, especially the posters. Other times with less ppl around, i'd sit down and watch the anime too. without knowing it, it's already 4pm, with me getting tired and stuffy and hot in the yukata. After packing the stuff and keeping them in the operation room, i returned to my room and dropped dead immediately.

We had anime screening on projectors at night but i got a shock as i stepped in the screening room, there were only the 2 committees there, setting up the AV system. Where are the audience? Darn. luckily, people started to fill in the room as the show starts. Phew~ after that, i went back to my room to get infos for my academic essay , which is supposed to be passed up on Thursday. I regretted choosing such a hard topic as i made several futile searches on the web for infos. The more i searched, the more frustration built up in me and the more helpless i felt. I scoured the Net for about 3 hours, getting bits and pieces of infos here and there, but still it wasn't enough. I dreaded that in the end me and Kristine might not even finish a paragraph of the essay. Too tired to continue, I finally left it undone and went to slumberland pass the wee hours. Haiz. 1 day left before doom's day...

to be cont...
