holiday= overwhelming laziness XD
i've been apologizing for not updating for the last few posts.. so i'm not gonna do so this time XD
On Monday, right after the last subject, which i've given up already since friday's subject, we went to watch Da Vinci Code. In the cinema there's tons of MMU students, which almost filled the whole cinema XD the movie was good, even for us who had read the book, but kinda missed out some plot which i wanted to see. like how grand the library mentioned was, how sophie threatened the guard by attempt of wrecking a painting.. and how sophie's bro being so handsome with the green eyes (they din even mention him.hmmph..). It'd be nice too if langdon is abit more handsome and sophie not looking so old. *runs away*
Back in room, packed everything and even managed to finish off 6 vols of fruit basket cos my com's already been dissembled and cpu sent to Dex for safekeeping. the next morning gatta wake up at 6sth cos we are going to KL at 7am *shocked to see it's already 3am after reading those manga*
June and William reach our house around that time in the morning, and we stuff our luggages and all the Gempak leftovers in the car. Had breakfast in Seremban (nice Wan Tan Mee. Mmmm...) I slept thru out the journey with piles of comic beside me, occasionally tilting towards me and squeezing me now and then :p we reached Gempak Office around 10am, and stucked there not until 12 sth. they have to check the stock.. do the accounts.. and then pay us 2k cash *WoOt!!* We were awed and it was my first time seeing so much cash in hand \0.0/
so we headed straight to KLCC, and ventured to the Bumiputra Commerce to bank in those terrifying piles of cash (yes i'm exaggerating :P, but it's still alot) by using the ATM machine. We were wondering how it counts the money after we put them in the money slot and joking about the machine saying "Thank you. Your cash is being shredded. Please come again." it was silly but we had a good laugh over it XD
Then we went to Aquaria KLCC, and we were there for 2 hours. there's side exhibitions of insects(i can spot every one of them in camouflage XD) besides the fishes and sharks n a big bloated poo-in-your-face-over-the-glass-tunnel fish. We were really shocked as we first stepped in the glass underwater tunnel, that huge dark fish jz swam across and poo. it was trailing along the fish, longer and longer it became.. Disgusting. Did i mention that we posed with scorpion on our palms? i even got 1 on my shoulder XD i felt this tingling feeling where it stood on your skin.. and posed very awkwardly. Loomun was screaming at me to take the photo quickly as it was crawling on her hand. Some experience we had.. sure worth the money :D
After walking back to KLCC and had our late lunch, we went to Sungai Wang via Putra, Komuter n monorail.. kinda lost abit but we managed to get there after some time *sweat* at that time we were kinda in a rush, so we jz go straight to Low Yat. i bought a card reader, and some games for my sisters and myself XD June's sister came and pick us up at the hang tuah monorail station. We were still in time for the bus home, so i thought we might as well go to her hostel room to freshen up before going to pudu station. June's sister was so cool XD she had handsome and sexy bishis in her
art file and i was immediately drawn. wish i could draw tat well >.< *drools* before long we parted and went for the bus home.
When mom and dad came to fetch me, i was half asleep. Dad suddenly said i looked taller and blew all my sleepiness away. XD i said "what? really?" then he said "must be cos of your long hair" and i was awed. so hairstyle DO affect how you look. *lesson learnt* so i was eager to have my hair cut and was thinking of changing my look. On Friday mom took me to this saloon, which charge quite expensively and i have my hair cut and restyled. it looks nice and i was surprised even to see my reflection in the mirror.. it's so feminine and Not ME. hell yeah i'm happy so i din dared to flinch abit fearing that it'd ruin the hair XD. Well, it eventually turn back the way it was and i had to stick some crystal hair oil on it to make it stay. few strains of hair will poke upwards now n then.. but it'll look better in time.. i hope >w<
Mom and aunt and uncle went to Bangkok and Pattaya for 5 days after that, and 3 of us (me and my sisters) were practically home alone for tat interval cos dad went work early and back home late. We did all the chores and yeah.. i'm an irresponsible big sister who slept till late in the afternoon and does not do much work except eating, daydreaming, n driving. But.. but I did bathe my dog coco and do some other petty stuff.. *gets squeeky and small*
Anyway, i get to meet up my frens and form 5 classmates. it's fun to meet up and see how they had change/remain the same over the years. it's been a year since i last saw them, and it's a relief that we were still joking and laughing like the old days. I'd really hate to see friendship bonded over several years flush down the drain by distance.
Besides, i've got a new phone! yey!! XD it's a Sony Ericsson P800. Tho it's not a new model, i got it free from my cousin *grateful eyes shining in tears* He was back from London, and last time he said he had a phone which he's not using and was willing to give me if i wanted. So.. it's the first ever pda phone by SE, and it is bulky and big but i'm not complaining.. it had touchscreen, camera, mp3 player, bluetooth, MMS, and games and softwares that i can download and install and so many other stuff that i previously dun. I was searching for softwares and firmware upgrades the first few days like mad XD and it paid off. i can write chinese characters, play games, listen to my mp3s n show off too *shot* XD i'm jz too happy with my new toy. Hope i won't spoil it or sth cos i've got this jinx with hp.. *touchwood*
so that's about it.. my first half of my hols XD going to penang again tomorrow to visit my fren Ahmoi and sharon will be there too. will make sure to enjoy myself :D so dun expect me to do updates any sooner k? *runs*

heh. sorry about not updating for so long XD
Around that previous post, there's so many events that i'm too lazy to post. for example, we had Loo Mun's birthday party (13.4.06), GACC appreciation dinner (15.4.06), maths n electronic exam, rushing of assignments n presentation... phew. wonder how we made it being so hectic.
And yesterday we have EMiNA Ad-Hoc Meeting (>Edo: yea i know, now that you said it i find it weird to have AGM meeting so many times XD) and YES! i'm OFF THE STAGE! no more president of EMiNA!! nyakakakakakka *bang wall*
Anyway, congrats EDO! You Hold The FUTURE of EMiNA now! Feel the wrath of 5th KaiCho of EMiNA (which is me) if you ever think of screwing up *fiery eyes n flame blowing*
Ehem. Hope that all the new hicomms will put in their efforts relentlessly and bring EMiNA up to a higher stage! Tanomu yo! we lay our trust on you now. ^_^
That said, i'm still one of the hicomm and.. BEHOLD! The Director for GACC07! yes! We are still having it next year! And hopefully larger scale and more eventful! can't imagine why i've gotten myself into deep shit again.. well, since i'm in it now, i better make it even more successful or else XD
Saa.. te. Later we are going to Shibaraku for our Hicomm appreciation dinner so i'm very looking forward to it ^^. next update will be full of pictures.. i swear! XD

The Long Awaited.. GACC Post!
sorry i have to drag this post so long. :p
for anyone who does not know, GACC stands for Games, Anime, Comic Circle. Our event was held on 18th of March 2006, in Exam hall, MMU Malacca campus. It is the biggest ACG event and the first to be organized in Malaysia too!
GACC - Turning Point of History
Being the president of EMiNA for about a year now, I have always felt that i want to do something great, or anything that is different, exciting, and worthy of being called an achievement. But being the usual blur and undecided self, i can never do anything right on time, let alone realizing such great achievement. I was afraid to step forward, further recoiling at the thought of failure. In my dreams, i would laugh myself off.
But the idea of having a national anime event change it all.
We formed a team with what we have, and march on. EMiNA hicomms, all 18 of us gathered and discuss. We are very excited about this idea, doing something different and out of ordinary for our club, which was alleged a half dead one. A change. But, a difficult one. Being complete rookies, we have much obstacles to overcome and problems more than we could ever imagine to haunt us throughout day and night.
First, it's the decision on our event name, venue and time. We could not proceed without this, the most important decision of all. Time was slowly slipping away as we went into futile argument, with problems on the booking of our venue, indecisive stand of ground, and conflicting oppinions. Time is money- that was the situation that this saying applies most to. the more time we wasted, the slimmer our chance of getting sponsors became. Everyone was stressed and frustrated, blaming each other and holding grudges for our own incompetence.
When our event proposal was finally out, with all the 3 elements all gradually readied, more than 2 months had passed. We delayed everything in our schedule. Frantically, we scour every nook and corner for sponsors. We approach almost everyone, or so we thought. Most of them were doubtful about our event, as the concept was new and we were the first to do such event. We were frustrated. But we stood up, again and again, all for the sake of the club. Phone calls, emails, applications; we tried all of them. It was nerve-breakingly tensed that time.
At the start of our 3rd semester, things started to brighten up. Our toiling efforts had somehow brought back some rewards. Japan Foundation Kuala Lumpur, or refered as JFKL, had answered our call of distress. YES! Finally we have a sponsor! We jumped for joy and was in bliss, before another good news came. Kurnia Insurance, thanks to Shin Dee, had decided to sponsor our event too! the capital worth even more than wat JFKL promised! All of us were in euphoria by then, only to be greeting by more challenges and problems ahead. Life was not a bed of roses, and will never be.
Now having gathered most of the capitals we need, another headache came. Publicity. Being the pioneer of such event, we need as much promotion as possible. What's an event without a crowd? A Failure. No one wanted that, after all the effort we had put into it. So? promote lah! With WHAT?? banners? buntings? posters? All these don't drop down from the sky. We need the designs immediately. Yet, things were not going well, if not worse. Design team was in trouble for not coming out with designs, or even a floorplan for our venue. Things got uglier as time passed, with only a few of the comms multitasking all the task which was supposed to be shared equally among all. finally we have to cut the gordian knot by force. Friendship between us tensed up and went dangerously near the verge of breaking.
That was not the only problem we had. Vendors, Doujin sellers, food, transportations for CF ppl, sound system setup, venue floorplan, rental of stage n tables, Decoration. All these problems landed on us without a warning, mainly because of our bad planning and indecisiveness. It was jz a week before event that we got to hang our banners and buntings, finally designed, altered and printed. The process was gruesome, and i swear i don't want any part of it a second time. Publicity done. 1 down, more to go. jz great. My sanity was slipping away, day by day, until the day itself.
With the efforts of all the dedicated hicoms and working comms, the venue was set up perfectly, throughout the night before. It was lovely with white and blue cloth hanging across the ceiling, accompanied with blue ribbons and balloons. The stage deco was decently good, with partition boards stick with painted anime mascots and japanese sliding doors at the sides. Even our event mascot, Elio was dry and painted white. Delighted, but still not letting my guard down, we proceed on preparation on saturday early morning.
Things were messy and we were like cat on hot brick as we forgot to print the registration papers, as well as other necessaries. Things were not looking good as time ticked away, drawing nearer and nearer to the opening of the event. Vendors were late, so were the CF ppl. Preparation and set up were delayed and early crowds got in the hall, having high anticipation, only to be let down. CALM DOWN!! That was the only thing we could do.
We waited and YES! Things finally went back on track and in time, Ms. Kugai and Mr.Shimada, representatives of JFKL came. Thus started my job, to tour them around. we went around the already setup venue, with various merchandises on display, doujins n artworks adorning the otherwise forlorn partition boards n booths. They were amazed and impressed by what we have done, eyeing the setting, the vendors and also the sea of crowds. We were awed ourselves! the previously spacious walkway was now pack filled with posing cosplayers of all kinds, overwhelmed visitors snapping photos, as well as curious school kids and parents. I could choked myself to death with happiness and relief but i had no time for that.
Then came the Opening Ceremony. Khurshid, you were great! That's the best EMCEE skills i've seen since dunno when. All the formality went and thus let our event BEGIN! Me and Hsia-Liang entertained the JFKL representative summore along with Mr Syukor, our VIP of the event. It was all praises and good comments from the representatives, with Mr. Syukor smiling throughout our talk. Then i was finally free to walk around myself xD
During the event i neglected my sisters. *bang wall, shoot self* Really hope they enjoy themselves. You guys grown up di so can go walk around yourselves la *get bricked* Seriously, i felt bad about it T_T we met in the hall several times, walked around together a few moments and went apart. i'm a bad sister. orz
There were alot of Cosplayers, but too bad i could not take photo with them cos i had lent my camera to the photographer team. I was mainly walking around, keeping an eye for trouble or difficulty faced by vendors, cosplayers and working comms. When the competitions kick start, the crowd was overwhelming. Not an inch was spared between you and the crowd. all the seats were taken, ppl standing around the stage and even sat on the floor, cheering for and taking photos of the cosplay contestants. Responds for the PS2 competition as well as drawing competition were good too. Things were better than expected, with this multitude of crowd.
But one or two slight hiccups occur everytime, which were enuf to send our nerve wrecking. Theft caused the whole security division as well as all the hicoms panicked. Besides, Sales team had ran out of small changes, despite the dire need of coins. I rushed back home to get my pouch of coins worth RM30 to settle the sales team's problem. Luckily when i got back, the missing items were found out to be in another fren's hand. Case closed. Phew.
I was feeble and tired after that. The rest of the event went pass like a gust of wind, and ended before i realized it. Prizes were won, Photos taken, and there it went. Months of preparation and the one day event ended in a blast. A few problems arise again after the event, but was settled quickly. I was too tired to do anything else already, so was everyone else. Visitors and Cosplayers went back with a smile on their face, which paid off all our hard work and bloodshed.
I'm grateful that i'm not doing all this alone. Without you guys, i would have suffocated to death, or would have hung myself before that. Loo Mun, Kristine, Shin Dee, and the rest (you know who you are :D) i sincerely thank everyone, hicomms and working comms alike, who helped out in the preparation for GACC, the coolest and biggest event in the history of EMiNA.
Really, I'm proud of having such a big event, and i will never forget all the joy and sorrow that we had went through together. Everyone of us had make the impossible a reality, with aspiring perseverence and selfless sacrifices. Thank you to all the supporters too, who came to our event, especially my sisters. *hug*
I'm so glad that... i finished this post that i'd cry in joy. *get bricked*
jkjk, photos will be up soon :D
